We did tell you that we were somewhat dysfunctional. Now is our chance to prove it.

You may ask: Why are seven older guys (ok, six older guys and one younger guy) plugging away at show after show like we were a bunch of 20 year olds looking for a recording contract? Do we have delusions of stardom? Colossal egos?

Hardly. We do it because we love it.

We love the music, we love the harmony, we love the chance to make a roomful - or arena-full - of people happy and, if you caught us at a weak moment, we would probably even admit that we love each other. It's corny, we know, but at our ages we're entitled to a little corn.

That's the way it goes after fourteen years. And we hope the love shines through in our performances so you are able to capture a little bit of that feeling as well.

We'd like you to get to know us a little bit better as individuals by reading this page. But more importantly, we hope you stop up to say hello and spend a few minutes with us at an event very soon.

Bud Cuttito

Technical Director, Baritone
Paramus, NJ

Bud defines dependable and thorough. In his low-key, unassuming way, he has mastered the WV sound system and has taken command of the difficult lower baritone part. Offstage, Bud runs his own construction management company and cherishes his time with wife Jeannie and his children and grandchildren. A long time youth football coach, Bud is proud to be a member of the Paramus Athletic Hall of Fame.

Mike Guthrie

Tenor
Fort Lee, NJ

We have enjoyed watching FG (don't ask, but you can probably guess) develop from a solid background singer into a commanding lead vocalist. Mike is completely at home on stage, whether performing with us, his rock band or in the theatre. Offstage, Mike is a successful Customer Service manager who loves a great party and time with friends and family.

Jim Hammill

Bass
Caldwell, NJ

A singer since eighth grade and an oldies fan for as long as he can remember, Hammy continues to have a great time doing the bass runs for Wide Variety. Offstage, Hammy is a business analyst and part time mobile DJ and voice over artist who loves time with his wife Astrida and two sons, his new home, camping, writing, classic AM Top 40 radio, and the Green Bay Packers.

Rick King

Baritone
Budd Lake, NJ

Rick is a champion lead from the world of barbershop harmony who adds a sweetness to the Wide Variety sound and another welcome dimension to this cast of characters. Rick and wife Debbie enjoy traveling the country visiting the family, restoring antique cars, and wine-making - but if you listen to this man sing one song you'll know the winemaking is only a fringe benefit. We're thrilled Rick and Debbie joined the Wide Variety family!

Dane Marble

Tenor
Hackensack, NJ

Being a second generation Barbershopper, married to a Sweet Adeline, you could say that vocal harmony is in this man's blood. Dane is a great background singer who is also able to take charge with a commanding lead vocal. Offstage, he runs his own delivery business and loves golfing and spending time at the lake with wife Elaine, their children and their friends.

Billy Peters

Tenor
Chestnut Ridge, NY

For Billy, music is both a lifelong passion and a family affair. He and wife Sue formed a great band that plays all over the area, featuring their daughters as lead vocalists! A terrific guitarist with a real ear, Billy has added accuracy and power to our high harmonies and provides another powerful lead voice to the WV sound. Offstage, Billy works in construction and is an avid surfer and die hard Beach Boys fan.

Phil Ruggiero

Musical Director, Baritone
Franklin Lakes, NJ

Besides being a gifted arranger and musician, Philly is a leader and an inspiration to the hundreds of performers he has coached in groups, bands and theatre companies. His love of life and love of friends shines through onstage, where he serves as Wide Variety's MC. Offstage, Phil is a Wall Street securities trader who loves time with fiancee Suzanne, his daughters, son in law and grandchildren, parties, camping, golfing and reading.
